Every other week we share with you three things that we’re taking note of – from pop culture to communications’ trends to relevant mergers and acquisitions. Hopefully this helps you stay in the know and at the top of your game.

Instagram is retiring the swipe up: The swipe-up will be no more. Instagram is planning to retire the feature, which allows people to visit external webpages by swiping up, starting August 30th, according to a notification viewed by The Verge and confirmed by Instagram. Instead of the swipe-up link, Instagram says people will be able to use link stickers, which are exactly as they sound: tappable stickers in stories that take people to external websites.

Workers, in Demand, Have a New Demand of Their Own: A Career Path: More low-wage employees want opportunity to grow. Big companies are making more promises to help them.

In the age of consumer privacy, relevance wins for advertisers: Privacy and the management of user data have become primary considerations among advertisers, consumers and legislators. Brands must secure and responsibly use consumer data — completely changing how the business of advertising will be done going forward.
